ARRIVING AT STROME
Strome Cottage is tucked away on the Isle of Scalpay in the Outer Hebrides, surrounded by wild moorland and breathtaking coastal scenery. The cottage offers peace, privacy, and a front-row seat to abundant wildlife, from seabirds and otters to seals in nearby inlets.
A short 130-yard footpath leads from the road to the cottage. Depending on the weather, the path can be wet or muddy, so sturdy footwear is recommended. A wheelbarrow is provided to help cart luggage, and if you arrive after dark, a torch is essential. The journey to the cottage is part of its charm, setting the stage for a true Hebridean escape.
The location combines seclusion with accessibility, making it easy to explore the island’s rugged beauty, local beaches, and scenic walks. Here, every visit feels like a return to a quieter, slower pace of life.
